Development of complete technical documentation and accompanying services for the investment "Racibórz Dolny flood protection reservoir on the Odra River in the Silesian Voivodship (polder). Object No. 2. Left-bank dam and associated structures".

THE PURPOSE OF THE INVESTMENT

The Racibórz Dolny reservoir is a very important element of flood protection in the Silesian and Opole voivodships. The project provides flood protection for more than 2.5 million people living in a number of cities, including: Racibórz, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Krapkowice, Opole, Brzeg, Oława and Wrocław, as well as villages located in three voivodships: Silesian, Opolskie and Lower Silesia.

Scope of the development

The scope of the project concerned one of the four objects of the Racibórz Dolny flood protection reservoir (polder) on the Odra River in the Silesian Voivodeship - Object No. 2. Left-bank dam and associated structures".

The scope of the development included:

• Design of the left-bank dam which, in combination with the remaining dams (front and right-bank), makes it possible to collect the culmination of flood waves in the reservoir basin.
  
• Design of control and measurement devices;
  
• The design of the Psina River bed repositioning together with the design of service roads, bridge structures, shaft vent and cascade at the inclusion of the Odra River bed.
• Design of water drainage from the Łapacz basin together with the design of service roads and an overflow to the collective ditch.
• Design of building public roads, including road crossings enabling crossing of the left-bank dam crown.
• Project of removing collisions with existing infrastructure, including telecommunication, power and gas networks.

• I class of importance of hydrotechnical structures;

MAXIMUM BASIN CAPACITY:

• Control flow p=0,02% - 3729 m3·s-1.
• Dependable flow p=0,1% - 2646 m3·s-1.
• Flow p=1% - 2100 m3·s-1.
• Flow p=5% - 1435 m3·s-1.

MAKSYMALNA POJEMNOŚĆ ZBIORNIKA:

• Current - 183 million m3.
• Target - 300 million m3 (after the exploitation of deposits in the basin is finished).

MAXIMUM LEVEL OF DAMMING UP:

• 195.20 m above sea level.

THE AREA OF THE BASIN WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE INVESTMENT:

• 26.30 km2.

LEFT-BANK DAM:

• maximum dam height - 11.10 m;
• dam length 9.60 km;
• width of the dam crown - 6.00 m.
