The Oder - Widawa weir in Wroclaw.

THE PURPOSE OF THE INVESTMENT

The Oder - Widawa weir after the destruction during the catastrophic July flood in 1997 was temporarily secured with a barrier made of steel sheet pilings. The objective of this project was to implement the findings of the feasibility study of the Racibórz Dolny reservoir on the Oder River and comprehensive modernization of the Wrocław Water Node (main report, annex IV part 2, 2004).

Scope of the development

The project documentation included the construction of a weir at the Oder-Widawa water distribution system with a capacity of 500 m3-s-1 at the control flow in the Oder river.

Under the contract, an information sheet for the project, water and legal operators for the execution of water structures together with obtaining a decision on a water and legal permit, construction design together with obtaining a decision on a building permit, executive documentation, cost, specifications for the execution and acceptance of works. During the execution of the Investment, the Author's supervision was exercised.

• Building output at the dependable flow in the Oder River Qpm = 120.00 m3-s-1.
• Building output at the control flow in the Oder River Qpk = 320 m3-s-1.
• Maximum building capacity Qpkat = 500 m3-s-1.
• I class of importance of hydrotechnical structures;
• Weir light 3x20,00 m = 60,00 m.
• Backwater height - 2.75 m
