The Wróblin weir

Preparation of complete technical documentation together with accompanying services for the project entitled "Modernization of the Oder weirs on the section under the management of the Regional Water Management Board of Wrocław - Opolskie Voivodeship. The Wróblin weir.

THE PURPOSE OF THE INVESTMENT

The aim of the project was to improve the technical condition of the facility and the operating conditions for safe passage of flood, dependable and control waters, by modernizing the existing sector weir.

Scope of the development

The scope of the development included:

  • conversion of the main building closures from sector closures to flap closures;
  • reconstruction of the existing concrete structures of the weir in such a way that it is possible to install in them the steel structures of the flaps together with their drives and equipment;
  • construction of the weir's downstream apron;
  • reconstruction of control room and engine room in abutments and pillars;
  • renovation of a fish ladder;
  • renovation and lifting of the footbridge;
  • renovation of abutments and demolition of the pillars of the needle dam;
  • clearing riverbed of the Oder River;
  • maintenance of protection on slopes and supplementing losses in protection;
  • arranging the inter-embankment zone along with felling trees and shrubs;
  • renovation of the lower and upper distribution dam;
  • renovation of the loading berth;
  • construction of a left-bank access road with a manoeuvring area;
  • development of the area of the phased housing estate;
  • preparation of areas for temporary construction facilities and other facilities necessary for the
  • execution of the investment and their liquidation after the execution of the investment;
  • execution of an additional footbridge connecting the weir with the stage housing estate.

Under the contract, a multi-variant concept, information sheet of the project, environmental impact report with a decision on environmental conditions for the implementation of the project (cross-border impact), water law reports for the execution of water structures with a decision on a water law permit, construction design with a decision on a building permit, executive documentation, cost, specifications for the execution and acceptance of works. From 2017 to the present day, author's supervision over the implementation of the investment has been exercised.

Basic parameters of the objects

1) Characteristic flows:

  • NNQ 13,00 m3·s-1;
  • SSQ 84,50 m3·s-1;
  • WWQ 3170,00 m3·s-1

2) Dependable flow Qm = Q0,5% = 2021 m3·s-1;

3) Control flow Qk = Q0,2%+α = 2858 m3·s-1;

4) Three-span weir with sector closures:

  • II class of importance of hydrotechnical structures;
  • Weir light (three spans) 3x32.00 m - 96.00 m;
  • normal water damming level - 149.00 m above sea level (Kr);
  • max. water damming level - 149.40 m above sea level (Kr);
  • normal drop - 2.40 m.
  • sector closure height - 3.10 m

5) Footbridge for pedestrians:

  • span length of the footbridge span in the light of the supports 32,00 m;
  • total length of footbridge span 33.00 m;

6) fish ladder:

  • 91.00 m long and 4.50 m wide;
  • flow rate at the ladder at normal water damming level 2.8 m3-s-1;
  • flow rate at the ladder at maximal water damming level 3.5 m3-s-1.
